"Melanin also shows negative resistance, electroluminescence (emitting a flash of light when a charge is put through it) and is the best sound-absorbing material known to science.

Which explains why black people love music so much, am i right?

IF YOU GOT MELANIN AND KNOW HOW TO USE IT,I CAN SEE THE RISE OF AND ADVANCE CIVILIZATION ON THE HORIZON.ADOLPH HITLER'S THEORY OF WHITE SUPREMECY WILL BE EQUIVALENT TO A GRAIN OF SAND WITHIN THE UNIVERSE.

Ah, you caught me, I was doing a cut & paste job from the Wikipedia, and left my brain in neutral. I think I meant:

Melanin influences neural activity, and mediates the conduction of radiation, heat, light and kinietic energy.

I've updated the article. My proofing is getting as sloppy as that at Damn Interesting. (I love them really, and encourage you all to pay them a visit)

I've got a bit of a problem with this bit:

In the brain, neural activity and the conduction of radiation, light, heat and kinetic energy are all mediated by melanin

Where did you get that? Unless one can really shine a light in one ear and see it out the other, I didn't think that the brain conducted light. Or the others really.

Very interesting though, I'd never heard of the Melanin theory.
