Art vending machine

art for the peopleWhilst out wandering on a Sunday, I chanced across the wonderful Campbell Works art gallery in Stoke Newington, North London.  It is currently hosting an exhibition by Jake and Dinos Chapman, the bad boys of the Young British Artists movement who built (and rebuilt) the incredible Hell, a scale model of demons torturing Nazis in the afterlife.

Anyway, what really caught my attention was this vending machine outside the gallery – two British pounds buys you a random print by a local artist.  Fantastic!

I didn’t have £2 on me, but next time I’m in the neighbourhood I’ll definitely take the gamble.

This is awesome! I’d end up paying their bills with art print money instead of paying my own.
