The Ig Nobel Prizes are coming!

The 2006 Ig Nobel Prize ceremony is scheduled for October 5, and I can’t wait. For those that don’t know, the Ig Nobel prizes “honor achievements that first make people laugh, and then make them think“.  I’m not sure why the guy in the photo is dressed up as a beer bottle, though.
You may remember I linked to the Pitch Drop experiment a while back - this won the 2005 Ig Nobel Prize for Physics. Previous winners include Claire Rind and Peter Simmons, who monitored the brain activity of a locust watching selected highlights from Star Wars, and Gregg A. Miller, inventor of replacement testicles for dogs.  Who will be honoured this year?  Only time will tell.
