Machina Dynamica’s Clever Little Clock

Clever clock for stupid people

If this looks like a $10 Timex clock with a red sticker on it, that’s because it is. Oh all right then, it’s not, it’s Machina Dynamica’s Clever Little Clock. How clever? Clever enough to sell for $199 a piece. How can they justify this 2000% price increase? Why, because it’s been “extensively modified”, of course. According to his website, Geoff Kait is able to do this using “concepts and techniques originally developed by PWB Electronics“. Most likely, this means the technique of buying something that costs very little money (e.g. a crocodile clip) and selling it for very much money (e.g. £500).

So what can you expect the Clever Little Clock to do?

The Clever Little Clock does not plug into the wall and has no direct or indirect influence on the audio signal — not on house wiring, audio components, cables, interconnects, power cords or acoustic waves”

For once I can’t argue. So why should I buy one?

Remove the Clock from its clear bubble pack and place it anywhere in the listening room. The sound will be considerably more musical and live sounding. There will be less distortion, more information and a deep, coherent soundstage. Low frequencies will be articulate, extended and dynamic, high frequencies exceptionally smooth with phenomenal inner detail. In other words, More of Everything!!

Wait, I thought you said it has no direct influence- oh never mind. I want one. At least I can do a before and after test by sticking it in a drawer, right?

to evaluate the sound without the Clock(s), place the Clock(s) outside the house structure, for example on the front steps — but NOT in a drawer, closet, another room, basement or garage OR, as it turns out, the family car.

But I don’t park my car in my living room. Do you? And what’s with all this “Clock(s)” business?

While a Clever Little Clock can provide a stunning improvement to the sound, a second clock in the room can be extraordinary.

Are you shitting me? How is one clock powerful enough to improve my stereo from my car, which is parked down the street, and yet so weak as to require another clock for full effect? Do you think I’m going to entrust you with $398?

NEW!! Limited Time Only: Save $100 - Purchase 1st Clever Little Clock at Full Price, Purchase 2nd Clock at 1/2 Price; $298 + shipping for 2 clocks

Wait, I just remembered I’m a gullible hi-fi enthusiast who’ll spend hundreds of dollars on magic pebbles. And what’s more, there are lots of testimonials from satisfied customers on your webpage. If that’s not conclusive proof of a solid product, I’ll eat my hat. Put me down for a dozen!
