Giant dust storm threatens Mars rover

A huge dust storm is threatening to starve the Mars rover Opportunity of much-needed sunlight, perhaps to the point where vital systems will shut down and NASA will be unable to revive the intrepid explorer. If you think the picture on the left looks awesome, like I did, then be disappointed to learn that it’s only an artist’s impression. The reality is below.
