Giant, bat-killing centipede! (video)

Ratcheting up the freaky-meter is this video of a giant centipede, which as well as being highly poisonous and strong as a small snake, can catch and kill bats, straight out of the air.

    The giant Scolopendra species are amazing centipedes. I know a fellow invertebrate keeper who was bitten by a Peruvian giant centipede (Scolopendra gigantea) and he said that the pain was unbelievable. In his words, “the morphine didn’t even touch it.”

    Ummm I doubt i’ll ever sleep in a cave while camping again or even venture near one. Good Lord!! I’m what about 163 cm and that thing is about what 1/5 my length @ 35 cm not something I would want to wake up to crawling up my leg. NO SIR!!
